A Call for Volunteers !

10/13/2020

Dear Ski Friends:

Over the past 9 months, our ski club’s Board of Directors has experienced an attrition in its composition due to a variety of personal reasons.  With a traditional membership (non-COVID) of 300+, SJSC needs a full Board to effectively administer the various trips, activities, and operational needs of the club.

Please take a few minutes to look at the list below of open positions to which I included a brief job description.  Most only require you contribute an hour or two a week of work.  Monthly Board meetings last 2 hours and are done virtually via ZOOM.  If you are unsure of your ability or of failure don’t be – we won’t let that happen.  The Board is harmonious and we all work together for one reason – our members.  We try to ensure a friendly, fun, and welcoming environment at all events.  What a great way to learn more about our ski club and improve it with your ideas!

Vice President – The vice president works with all Board members and presides over meetings in the absence of the president.  The vice president is expected to serve in that capacity for one or two years to learn the organization then elevate to president for one or two years.

Secretary –
The secretary takes and maintains the minutes of Board and other meetings as may be necessary.  The secretary uses their personal mailing address to receive correspondence on behalf the club.

Asst Webmaster –
Works with the club webmaster by maintaining the club’s website and social media (Facebook) platforms.  Prepares and distributes Constant Contact messages as needed.  Graphic experience nice but not required.

Asst Treasurer –
Works with the treasurer who receives, disburses, and records all funds belonging to the Club. Files all of the club tax returns and any other required regulatory documents.  Good bookkeeping skills are required.

Ski Director -
 Works with the Ski Committee, club officers, leaders, and vendors in the planning and organizing of ski trips for the club. {for next Ski Season}

Graphic Artist –
Periodically we need someone with computer skills and a creative mind.
If you have any interest in one of the position, have any questions, or would like to recommend a friend, please feel free to call me at 609-575-1395 or email at: joebroski@comcast.net

Thanks!
Joe Broski, President
