As a lead-up to Opening Night (August 12th)..
On-Line trip registration goes Live on Wed - Aug 5th @ 7 pm.
Simply go to the clubs web-site / ski page...
where the Trip Flyers are currently posted...
@ 7 pm Registration will be turned ON - right on the same page!
All existing trips will be available to register on the 'WAIT LIST'..
And - not to worry, right now, "wait-list" does not mean the trip is full..
This is simply an electronic version of getting in line at a trip sign-up table
(like we did the 'Old Day's.. last year..)
The difference is, there is no actual standing in line (we couldn't do that anyway..)
Live Registration will be available from 7 pm Aug 5th..
right thru Opening Night on Aug 12th. *1
On Opening Night, Trip Assignments will be made and
deposits collected (with the ability to pay on-line via credit card)
(did we mention we're taking EVERYTHING online!)
*1 - Just like a physical line.. the further to the front you are, the better chance you will get on the trip.. so don't wait too long to register. If you are the 40th person in line on a 36 person trip.. you're probably not going to get a spot on that trip.

After months of work behind the scenes we are ready to launch the new On-Line Membership Sign-Up for the 2020-21 Ski Season!
You will be filling out all the same forms.. with all the same information (plus a couple other questions / choices..) - but we are eliminating the paper.. and you will not have to type all the same information in again..
That's right.. fill out the forms this year... and - not only will all the info carry to the Trip Registration forms (yeah.. we do that!) - but the info will also carry to next year.. making renewing membership a breeze.
In addition - since we are still very limited with having physical meetings.. you can pay your Membership Dues On-Line with a Credit/Debit Card.. and we're absorbing the 3% Card Processing fee we are charged for all on-line transactions.
That's right.. easy - online payment (no snail-mail checks..) and no Fees (at least, not for membership dues!)
Sign Up is a breeze....
Just enter your email address to start the application..
(Use the same as you used last year - so we can 'Welcome' you back!)
Then - just fill out the easy-to-follow form, make your Dues payment on-line and then look for the eDocs link from Eversign in your email.
Complete and submit the required Hold Harmless Agreement and Liability Release and that's it! You'll be a active Member..
.. ready for the Trip pre-Registration that kick's off on Aug 5th!
We're back!! Please come to our 1st in person meeting in many months at Laurel Acres Park. It will be great to see our ski friends again, and learn what has been going on behind the scenes. Ski Trips, social events and online signups will be discussed. If you don't feel comfortable coming in person, we will have a zoom session going on simultaneously.
We are asking the that you comply with in person social distancing and the NJ One Pledge rules. See link below for more info:
Bring your own food and chairs. There is no grilling or alcohol allowed.
Looking forward to seeing all of you there!!
We are moving to a completely digital platform..
No more paper membership applications..
No more paper trip registrations...
If you haven't moved or changed your birthday,
why keep filling out the same info, form, after form..
every..... single.. year?
We've been wondering the same thing..
and now we're doing something about it!
(and between you & me.. I think you're gonna love it!)
Where are We Going?
With all the uncertainty in the world right now we know you have questions about the coming ski season. Some of you may be wondering whether there will even be a season or why we are still planning one.
We recognize that many have lost loved ones and that recreational snow sports are trivial in comparison with loss of human life, loss of jobs, housing and businesses. When the board met in late March, the travel and global health outlook was fairly bleak. After extensive discussion, the board decided to move forward with the season with a guiding principle we came to call “Rational Optimism.”
Skiing and riding are our passion and the club is a community. With the hard work of the committees and volunteers, the cooperation of the resorts and our vendors, we forged ahead. No one knew what the season ahead would look like but we began planning for a season like no other. The season had to be scalable – the ability to add, drop, defer and change trips with as much flexibility as possible. We would need to find a way to have opening night – even if we could not meet. We would need to find a way to get forms signed and payments made – in a world where suddenly no one wanted to touch paper or cash.
All of our volunteers went to work on this and have made unbelievable progress in three short months. You will learn more about the changes to the trip signup process as well as the trips currently on the schedule at the June 17, 2020, Zoom general meeting.
Candidly, I am not certain which trip(s) I will attend next year. I remember during April and early May - when the health crisis was at its worst in our area - looking at my computer screen saver of Rendezvous Bowl and my framed photo with ski club friends at the Blackcomb Glacier often. I recall thinking that I was so glad I had gone on those trips, had those experiences and memories, particularly if returning to those places might not be all that easy in the future.
As I write this, the travel and public health outlook, while still less than ideal, look a little brighter. Neither the club nor I can tell you whether you should purchase a pass, what will happen if there is another shutdown, or what skiing will be like if social distancing remains. There is a certain amount of risk involved in all adventure travel. This coming year will involve a bit more risk, no doubt. Each and every turn we are fortunate enough to experience will be that much more rewarding having faced the prospect of a winter without sliding on snow.
Everyone will need to make their own decisions in their own time. The club understands this. We remain Rationally Optimistic.
Your President here with a few announcements.
I wanted to reach-out to our Members during this unprecedented time. I hope everyone is healthy & following all recommended precautions.
Firstly, I would like to thank the Ski Committee & all of our Trip Leaders for a great season! Under the leadership of Mary Domzalski & with the help of the IKON pass, the season could not have been better!
I also want to thank our Tour Operators – Gloria @ SKI.COM, Jamie @ ALPHORN & all of our partners for the weekend trips!
Unfortunately, we could not travel to Mt Tremblant. I want to give a shout-out to Trip Leaders - Michelle Johnson & Suzanne Dalton - for all of their efforts on this trip. If you were impacted, please keep checking your email for the latest information on refunds. I am hopeful that we will be able to visit Mt Tremblant in the near future!
The Spring Fling & Volunteer dinner have been postponed. But we are planning an event in the summer if all goes well.
We have an exciting line-up for next season and even though things are still uncertain, we hope to open Trip Registration in June – even if we have to conduct Opening Night “remotely”. [Information about each trip will be provided in April.]
Nominations for Board positions & elections will be postponed until further notice. The current Board of Directors will continue to serve thru this crisis. I want to thank each and every volunteer, without you the club would not be possible.
If permitted, Softball will start on Tues. April 7th ; we play every Tues thru Sept. Remember that membership is required. Details about Softball & the Membership Form will be posted on our web site. It’s $50 to play for the season plus $25 for membership.
Lastly, let’s have a little fun during this period of self -isolation. The club is launching a LOGO contest!
Put your creativity to use while cooped-up at home. Specifications will be posted for a digital entry. Or, get the kids/grandkids involved – crayon & finger painting entries are welcomed too!
Post your LOGO idea on the club’s FB page! We’ll vote on the entries & select
That’s all for now. Stay safe.
Hope to see you all very soon!!
